Hervey Bay, situated on the amazing Fraser Coast, is a bustling coastal town bordered by pristine sandy beaches and calm waters.  Gateway to the World Heritage listed Fraser Island and the Great Barrier Reef's Lady Elliot Island, Hervey Bay is also known as the "Whale Watching Capital of Australia".  Each year, between July and November, the mighty Humpback Whales arrive and splash in the safe protected waters of Hervey Bay. 

The beach is ideal for all ages and swimming, sailing, fishing, diving, sea kayaking and skiing are all readily available for the visitor's recreation. As well as an abundance of water based activities, Hervey Bay offers a wide variety of attractions and activities with something to suit all ages and interests.

Visitors to Hervey Bay can enjoy a range of attractions. You can fish from the shore or take advantage of the fishing charters on offer. An up close and personal wildlife park, Reefworld, shark show and shell display, mini golf, model railway through to the natural attractions of safe golden beaches.

The Wide Bay Water Corporation (WBWC) has opened the WetSide Water Education Park, an innovative step in public recreation that also delivers ‘infotainment’ in a free, outdoor setting.

Golf'n'Games Waterslide

Golf 'N'Games Waterslide is an entertainment venue for everyone. It boasts the longest waterslide in QLD and has an 18-hole mini-golf course. The Games Room houses the latest in family entertainment. Drinks, ice creams and snacks are available.  

 

 
Free Things to do in Hervey Bay

  • Visit the brand new Wetside Water Education Park
  • Walk or ride the Esplanade (approx. 18 kms)
  • Feed the Lorikeets at the Botanical Gardens
  • Visit Hervey Bay Regional Art Gallery at Pialba

  • Visit the Hervey Bay markets, held every Sunday
  • Take a scenic drive to Toogoom or Burrum Heads
  • Fish off one of the small jetties along the Esplanade or walk out to the end of the long jetty (approx. 1 kms)
  • Feed the Pelicans
